Meeting Standards Through Integrated Curriculum By: Drake and Burns

Integrated Curriculum

Integrated curriculum is about making connections. As teachers, we must encourage students to make connections between what they learn at school and in their everyday lives. Accountability is another big issue today. Are students learning what they are supposed to learn? Integration can help make this happen. The different integration approaches can serve all learners including the at risk students. Obviously, a classroom that uses integration is fun. Integrating the curriculum helps students learn by making connections and the more connections they make, the more they learn.
